Here you will find most of the bootlegs by Motorhead on vinyl. It is however more
difficult to list all CD bootlegs since almost every concert today is bootlegged and then distributed
over the internet. A lot of these bootlegs are then transferred to a CD-R and people do there own
sleeves. Here I have listed first bootlegs on vinyl until 2007. Here you can find both 7" bootlegs and LP
bootlegs. Some vinyl bootlegs are available in different colours but I have not listed those as different
pressings. Others have been re-issued with a different sleeve. These I list as different releases. From 2008 Ebay has been flooded with various bootlegs
and pirate releases. Most of those were sold by Greek sellers, but also sellers in Sweden, France, Argentina, UK and Germany. I got tired of this and I have
now started to list those in the Pirates section or the Boots 2008- section. And
I am sure I have failed to list them all.
After the vinyls I list all CD bootlegs that are factory made. Or, at least that I think are factory made. With factory made I mean they are not CD-Rs. I have tried to list them chronolgically. And then I list also some CD-R bootlegs. This list will of course never be complete. Maybe some of these actually are fabric made. CD-r copies of, for example, the Lemmymania bootleg will not be listed. This is also a result of me starting to list those but after a while I got fed up. However, I have kept those even if it is not complete and after 2009 they are not so common on Ebay anymore. I guess it is more money in pressing on vinyl than on cd-r. Another thing that should be mentioned is that I make a difference between bootlegs and pirate releases. For me a bootleg release is a recording that have not been released legally before. When it comes to Motorhead it is almost only live recordings but there are some studio recordings for radio that has been released as bootlegs. A recording that first was released legally by a record company that has licensed it from whoever owned the rights and after that simply was released by someone who did not license it I call it a pirate.
