In November 2008 Universal released re-issues of the 2 CD expanded releases from 2005 of Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades and Iron Fist. This time they were packaged as digipack with a clear slip case with a grey field declaring it was a Deluxe edition. The AOS release, that had cat no SMEDD243 on the 2005 release, here got the cat no 0602517855687.

In August 2007, Sanctuary agreed to a GBP 44.5m takeover by the Universal Music Group. Sanctuary chairman Robert Ayling was quoted as saying; "The past few years have proved to be a very difficult time for Sanctuary and a very disappointing one for its shareholders. (The) acquisition... can allow the Sanctuary business to benefit from the already well-established relationships between Sanctuary and Universal and from a more supportive capital structure, which is in the future interests of artists and employees."

In September 2007, Universal announced "it has been decided that its Sanctuary Records UK division will no longer continue as a stand alone, front-line record label."

In September 2010 when Universal also released APD, No Remorse and RNR as but as jewel cases with a grey Expanded edition they also did the same with Overkill, Bomber, AOS, NSTH and Iron Fist.
