Considered by many to be the best album Motorhead ever have done. The album was released on the 20th of October according to the Babylon book. It was produced by Vic Maile and recorded at Jackson´s studios in Rickmansworth during six weeks in August and September 1980. Lemmy had worked with Vic Maile before when he was in Hawkwind. In various interviews the band members have relealed that Vic got them to put more effort in their playing and to perform better than they had on previous recordings. The production was also more clear than on the Overkill and bomber albums.

On the front sleeve the band were dressed up as outlaw cowboys standing in a sandpit against a clear blue sky. The UK pressing was also released on gold vinyl. The US pressing got a small extra logo in the top left corner and a different back sleeve as well as a slightly different order of the songs. You can find German pressings that lists the tape number on the back or copies that don´t.
