In 1986, after some years of financial problems for Bronze, the whole
Bronze catalogue was acquired by UK-based label Legacy Records. The very same year a bunch of Motorhead
Bronze albums were re-issued in different forms. In UK these re-releases weren´t actually released by Legacy,
but licensed to GWR Records, the label that had been formed by Motorheads manager Douglas Smith and that
had a deal with Motorhead at the time. Overkill was released with the catalogue number GWLP 4 and was, just like the
Orgasmatron album, manufactured in Germany by RCA/Ariola.
