The NSTH album was recorded live at three different dates in Newcastle and Leeds in 1981. It was released a few months later, in June 1981. One date I have seen is the 21st but I have also seen an add where it said it was released already on the 15th of June. It was Vic Maile again who produced it and he had a hard time getting some decent material on to tape even if he had those three live recordings to choose from. He even had to do some overdubs. The song Iron Horse was not good enough so instead Vic dug out a live recording from 1980, exact what date and what recording seems to be a well kept secret.

Motorhead themselves were not satisfied with the recording and sent a long fax with complaints to Bronze but the album got released anyway and reached no 1 in the UK charts. This is really unusual for a live album and especially for a band that played this kind of music.

Being one of the most sold Motorhead albums it is also of course one of them existing in most various kinds of versions. You have several German versions with club editions and sonderauflage sonocord pressings, there are copies printed in Ireland and you will find many other odd releases. The US and Canada pressing got the Live logo on the front sleeve. In 2001 Metal-Is released a 2-CD 20th anniversary Edition that was made in collaboration with Eddie Clarke featuring a lot of the live versions that never made it to the original album.
