First time I ever heard of a Greek test pressing was in September 2010 when Greek
seller omenhexx suddenly listed 4 Motorhead Greek test pressings and also several other test pressings with bands like
Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, AC/DC, Wasp and Running Wild on Ebay. He wrote that he now offered his test pressing collection
for sale. Of course you get suspicious considering all fake white label copies that have been on sale on Ebay. So I
googled his name and "fake" and found out that he had sold several copies of the Gunsīn`Roses single
Live Like a Suicide which collectors
found very strange.
I emailed him and asked him how he could have all those test pressings for sale. This is his answer: "About where I
find all this i want to inform you that i have the bigger record store in Greece and one of the biggest in
Europe and I sell only metal music and for a lot of years from 1986 till 1995 I have the biggest distribution in
Greece with all the Greek Labels and of course the most importand in all over the world. This is a part of my
private colection and i have more that 500 test press but arond 80% is Greek pressing.
Thanks Chris".
I also asked him for more pictures and he actually sent me several as you can see. When I look at those I find them very
suspicious. There are several signs of them being fake. The edges around the labels as well as the centre holes look
like someone has cut with a bad knife or razor.
He also had received some negative feedback, several buyers claiming that they have received bootleg cds and even vinyl.
Some of them have not even received their cds. One also complained about fake autographs. Just one week later
he was not a registered member anymore.
Mick Stevenson (2011) does not list any Greek test pressing.
