The golden vinyl issue has a round gold sticker on the front saying it is gold
vinyl. The sticker also says BRONG 531 but that number is only on the sticker, not on the sleeve or the label
or the matrix number. The "G" in "BRONG" obviously stands for Gold.
It was distributed by Polydor although for example Oliver Kaempf claims there are gold vinyl copies distributed
by EMI as well. There are apparently different colours of the vinyl, some are darker, which suggests there were more than
one batch (Stevenson 2011).
In July 2010 a guy called "Jack" sent me an email about a Gold vinyl copy he had came across. The strange thing with
this was the sleeve where you could find a white number "10" on the front sleeve in the upper right corner. This is what
he wrote: "the vinyl is gold and it comes in a Polydor sleeve - but the sleeve doesn't have the gold "BRONG 531"
sticker on the cover, and doesn't look like it ever had. There is no ring or tears to indicate that a sticker
was ever applied to the jacket. The other unusual thing about the sleeve is that it has the number "10" printed
in white in the upper right hand corner of the front cover. The first thing I thought when I first saw it was that
the number had been applied to the cover either as a sticker, or some kind of transfer (like letraset) but it is
definitely part of the original printing on the sleeve". Before Jacks email I had never heard of this number 10 on
any AOS sleeve. If you have, please let me know.
