In 1978 EMI took over the distribution as a result of Chiswick´s financing problems, and it was decided that the Motorhead album would be re-released in the UK (cat no Cwk 3008) in November. The first 10 000 copies of this edition were on white vinyl and on the cover there was a subtitle, “White Vinyl Fever”. In the run-off groove it says “Chop and sniff” on the A-side and “White Vinyl Fever” on the B-side. Beneath the catalogue no on the rear cover in the upper right corner there is a tiny white star on this white vinyl edition. After the initial 10 000 copies the vinyl was changed to ordinary black, the subtitle was removed as well as the tiny star and the inscription in the run-off groove. The label was the Chiswick stylus label on both versions. This time Chiswick had taken the time to get the song titles right on the rear cover but didn´t bother to include the picture inner sleeve. Instead they used a plain black one for the white vinyl and a white one for the black vinyl. Again, just like the original WIK 2, some copies were laminated. Nowhere, however, was the information on the sleeve or the label that it was a re-issue, released in 1978.
