The Dirty Love album contains rehearsal recordings that were made by the band during the rehearsals for the Ace Of Spades album. They were of course never intended to be released and were stored by Fast Eddie Clarke. In 1989 Fast Eddie sold these recordings together with some live recordings to the UK based label Receiver records that had specialised in releasing old live and studio recordings with punk band from the late 70īs and early 80īs.

The album has not been re-issued as many times and in as many different versions as, for example Blitzkrieg on Birmingham . Some versions, for example the Japanese The Rarities, has also included some bonus tracks and therefore maybe some people think that should be sorted under Receiver compilations. In the beginning of the 21 century Sanctuary acquired the rights to the recordings and choose to release a 2 CD set called Tear Ya Down that also included the Stone Dead Forever album, an album that also was released by Receiver in 1997 and included different alternative versions of early recordings.

The absolute most interesting thing with this album is the never before heard songs like Hump On Your Back and the early versions of for example Ace of Spades.
