By the end of 1980 Bronze Records was acquired by Polydor. This meant that
Polydor took over the manufacturing and distribution arrangements of the Bronze releases and the Overkill
album was still in print by this time. Overkill albums printed after 1980 has therefore “Available from
Polydor” printed in the right corner on the back cover and the small print on the label doesn´t include
“EMI Records Ltd” or “Made In Great Britain”. Some copies got a sticker, or a stamp, like the Bomber album
that was distributed by Polydor
with a square label on the front cover saying “Limited edition special price”. The catalogue number on the
label, BRON 515, also has an additional number within brackets, 2406 208. There are actually three slightly different versions
of the labels (see pictures). First version (picture 1 and 2) does not include the 2406 208 number and the
small print around the label ends with "Made in Great Britain. Second version has a very clearly marked groove around the centre and this version
includes the 2406 208 number. Third version
(picture 5) does not have the additional number and the small print does not include "Made in Great Britain".
Polydor used another pressing plant than EMI, they used Phonogram. Characteristic for this plant is
a ridge surrounding the label and a smaller groove about an inch away from the centre hole (probably represented by label picture 3 and 4).
