The record industry had figured out yet another excuse for repackage
and re-release old recordings: the LP replica, a CD release packaged as a miniature vinyl record.
Overkill was released as this in 2000 (cat no CMTCD107) in the UK on Castle. By this time Castle
Communications had been purchased by the Sanctuary Records Group which meant that Castle now was a
subsidiary to Sanctuary and Sanctuary owned the rights to the Motorhead back catalogue. It contained
the remastered recordings but without the bonus tracks. Two years later, in 2002, this vinyl replica edition
was included in a box set called The Bronze Age.
