The first time the recordings of the NSTH album were remastered was in 1995
which resulted in the 1996 remastered series on Castle, or, to be more exact, on the subsidiary Castle label
Essential Records (cat no ESM CD 313). It was released in August. This release was an elaborate work that
included 3 bonus tracks:
Over The Top (B-side of the Motorhead live single), Capricorn (Alternate Version) and Train Kept-a-Rollin´
(from the flexi disc). The strange thing is that Over the Top is said to be (P) 1979 and
Train Kept-a-Rollin´ is said to be (P) 1977 which must be a mix up of the original studio versions.
Instead of a booklet, like on the other remastered releases, NSTH featured a fold out poster with the pictures
from the original inner picture sleeve as well as several additional photos from the time. On the jewel case
there was a square silver sticker saying it was remastered from original master tapes and that the artwork
was “faithfully restored”. There are two versions of the sticker, one of them also including the line "Plus
bonus tracks". The disc was yellow with the skull.
Most interesting is the alternate version of Capricorn which isn´t live but a studio version but there is no
information where this version comes from. My guess is it is from the recordings of the Overkill album but it
could also
be an even earlier version.
